William ‘Bill’ H. Maguire In his 89th year, William ‘Bill’ H. Maguire passed away suddenly on March 19. Bill, who served in both the Canadian Armed Forces and the Royal Canadian Navy in the 1940s and 50s, was the first two-year president of ACTA Ontario. He served on the national board for 12 years as secretary-treasurer, four years as vice-president of aviation and was also president of ACTA national between 1991-1993. He is also credited as being the father of ACTA’s i.d. program and was awarded a life membership in 1996. Bill is survived by his wife Doris, who he met in 1947 while stationed in Belfast.
