TORONTO — The Jamaica Tourist Board (JTB) is encouraging Canadian travel advisors to save the date for its Jamaica Travel Expo & Destination Weddings Showcase.
The multi-market Canada Trade Week events will take place in Calgary on Nov. 7, Montreal on Nov. 9, and Toronto on Nov. 10.
At each event, travel advisors will be able to meet with local and on-island suppliers and destination wedding vendors to learn about the latest product updates and resort developments in Jamaica.
Each regional event will feature dedicated product training sessions from 3-5 p.m., followed by a Destination Showcase from 5:30-8:30 p.m. featuring live entertainment, Caribbean-inspired cuisine, games, photo opportunities and prize giveaways.
Travel advisors can sing up to attend the events for free at visitjamaica.com/canada/expo. The registration deadline is Friday, Oct. 27.
The schedule is as follows:
- Calgary: Tuesday, Nov. 7, Best Western Premier Calgary
- Montreal: Thursday, Nov. 9, Intercontinental Hotel Montréal
- Toronto: Friday, Nov. 10, Pearson Convention Centre
“The Jamaica Travel Expo and Destination Weddings Showcase will be the JTB’s first major in-person show since 2019, and we are anticipating more than 450 agents to join us for these exciting trade week events across the country,” said Angella Bennett, Regional Director, Canada, JTB.
“We can’t wait to bring the vibrant spirit of Jamaica to Calgary, Montreal and Toronto this fall. Each regional event will give retail agents a chance to learn from the country’s top suppliers, hear the latest destination developments, and enjoy some world-class island fun and prizes,” she added.
Following the Showcase events, the JTB will also host a public Jamaica Travel Expo on Nov. 11 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Pearson Convention Centre in Brampton. The free event will bring together Jamaica’s top hotels, resorts, attractions and bridal specialists, and will also feature a live band, kids’ activities, free swap, food and drinks, fashion shows, destination presentations, hourly vacation prize draws and a grand prize giveaway valued at $5,000, courtesy of redtag.ca.
