Paszyn convicted, fined $5,000: TICO

TORONTO — Marek Paszyn and Aquarius Scuba Diving Centre Inc. (Aquarius) plead guilty and were each convicted of one count of operating as a travel agent without registration, contrary to section 4(1)(a) of the Travel Industry Act, 2002 (the Act).

Paszyn was sentenced to a fine of $4,000 plus the Victim Fine Surcharge, for a total of $5,000.

Aquarius received a suspended sentence.

Paszyn and Aquarius operated in Toronto and elsewhere in Ontario. After the charges were laid, Aquarius applied for registration as a travel agent under the Act. The application is nearing completion pending final review.
