Park City, Utah gears up for another ski season

TORONTO — Park City, Utah is heralding the arrival of another busy ski season, promising guests a fun mix of outdoor activities, fine dining, comfortable lodging and unique events.

Located east of Salt Lake City, the world-renowned ski and adventure destination is known for its two world-class ski resorts – Park City Mountain Resort and Deer Valley Resort – and famed Utah powder, delivering a well-rounded skiing experience for all ski levels.

With its vast expanse of 7,300 skiable acres and 330+ trails, Park City Mountain Resort, owned by Vail Resorts, reigns supreme as the largest lift-assisted ski resort in the United States. It celebrates its 60th season in 2023-2024, opening lift operations on Nov. 17.

The ski-only Deer Valley Resort spans 2,026 skiable acres and features 103 trails. Included in the Ikon Pass, the resort has unveiled an ambitious expansion project that will increase its skiable terrain in the coming seasons, with new terrain becoming accessible in 2025-2026. The 2023-2024 season kicks off on Dec. 2.

Also part of Park City is Utah Olympic Park, a commemorative site dedicated to the 2002 Salt Lake City Winter Olympic Games. Suitable for all ages, the park offers an array of outdoor activities including giant slalom and moguls courses that meet International Ski Federation and World Cup standards. Park City has also added a high-speed quad chairlift, snowmaking systems and LED lights for night training to further appeal to guests.

After a day in the snow, guests can rest easy thanks to over 100 lodging options that cater to diverse preferences and budgets. Whether they prefer a cozy alpine cabin or a luxury resort experience, there are options for different traveller styles.

Beyond the park, the town of Park City is home to a wide range of award-winning restaurants, each offering an eclectic array of cuisines, plus a vibrant nightlife scene the ensures the fun extends well into the evening hours. Guests are encouraged to save the dates for a number of high-profile special events, including the hugely popular Snow Globes Stroll featuring life-sized snow globes along Main Street, and the acclaimed Sundance Film Festival, which draws celebrities and cinema buffs from around the world. Also not to be missed is Ice Castles, an award-winning frozen attraction comprising hundreds of thousands of icicles hand-placed by ice artists. 

Park City is conveniently located 25 miles from the new Salt Lake City International Airport, which was inaugurated in September 2020.
