The new team will be focused on providing product education and marketing and sales support to the travel trade via five regional offices across the U.S. and Canada. “Travel agents and MICE planners have always been an important part of our marketing strategy and we have always worked closely with our partners,” said Jacques L. De Paep, Sales & Marketing – North America for Palladium Hotel Group. “Our new expert and empowered regional sales team takes our support to the next level, working across the U.S. and Canada to promote our collection of all-inclusive beachfront resorts in Mexico, Dominican Republic and Jamaica.” The North American Business Development Team for Palladium Hotels & Resorts includes: Sonia Casaubon: Business Development Manager – Canada. Speaking French, Spanish and English are just a few of the skills that Sonia Casaubon taps into at work these days. Her love for the travel industry began in 1992 when she left her home in Canada for a job at a resort in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic. There she learned the inner workings of a beach resort while perfecting her English and learning Spanish. After 10 years as a destination representative/supervisor for Canadian and French tour operators, she returned to Montreal. She worked with Hilton Caribbean, Coral by Hilton and as a corporate group sales manager for Hilton before returning to what she says she loves most, “selling dream vacations under the sun.” She has been selling Palladium Hotel Group properties to Canadians since 2008. On a personal note, she has won the aerobic marathon of Santo Domingo, and in the 1990s, she performed at the Punta Cana Beach Resort’s nightly shows.
