The Oberoi Group to open new hotels in Morocco, UAE and India

NEW DELHI — The Oberoi Group says it plans to open three new hotels in 2016: The Oberoi Marrakech, The Oberoi Sukhvilas, Chandigarh in India and The Oberoi, Al Zorah in the United Arab Emirates.

The Oberoi Marrakech is 20 minutes south of the city centre in 25 acres of fragrant citrus orchards and ancient olive groves, with views of the Atlas Mountains. The resort has 77 villas each with a private temperature controlled pool set in the privacy of a landscaped garden. In addition to the villas, there are six Deluxe Rooms and a Presidential Suite with Private Pool. The spa occupies its own private island on a lake within the resort.

About 30 minutes from Chandigarh, India, The Oberoi Sukhvilas is a luxury spa resort surrounded by over 8,000 acres of protected natural forest, with traditional Indian pavilions, aesthetically landscaped courtyards and chic, modern design elements. The resort has 60 villas, rooms and luxury tents.

And 30 minutes from Dubai airport, The Oberoi, Al Zorah is a luxury eco-destination with a long beachfront, azure lagoons and lush mangroves, located amid 247 acres of forest. It offers 113 villas, suites and penthouse plus a championship golf course by Nicklaus Design.

“Recognizing the growing global demand of luxury accommodation, the addition of luxury properties in regions will fortify the Group’s global footprint,” said Kapil Chopra, President, The Oberoi Group. “Our strategy of creating partnerships and focusing on the best locations has been a key element of our expansion.”

Earlier this year the Group announced two new properties in Qatar: a 250-key hotel in the West Bay area of Doha, and a 148-key serviced apartment in Lusail, Doha.
