ACCOMMODATION


Springhill Suites and Courtyard Marriott

A new dual-branded offering by Marriott has come to Myrtle Beach’s Ocean Boulevard. The new Springhill Suites and Courtyard by Marriott property replaces the recently demolished Breakers Resort near 21st Avenue North.


Avista Resort 

Avista Resort in North Myrtle Beach now offers Contactless Check-in through their new mobile app. The app will also serve as a shareable room key and will feature resort information. For more information, visit https://www.avistaresort.com/blog/mobile-check-in/


Holiday Inn Club Vacations

Holiday Inn Club Vacations will build a new resort on the Grand Strand with 152 one-to-four-bedroom villas. These villas will also include patios with ocean views. The hotel is expected to be completed in 2024 and will be across the street from the company’s existing resort on South Kings Highway near the Myrtle Beach International Airport.


Crown Reef Beach Resort Penthouse

The Crown Reef Beach Resort has opened its multi-million dollar renovated penthouse. The four-bedroom, 3,800-square-foot penthouse offers ocean views, spacious balcony, a stunning kitchen, and modern bathrooms. The suite also included a washer and dryer as well as a daily maid service.

 


ACTIVITIES & ATTRACTIONS 


Revitalization of the Broadway Theater

The expansion of Myrtle Beach’s Arts and Innovation District continues with the former Broadway Theater that will soon become a 300-seat performing arts centre. The combination theater, drugstore and department store thrived back in the day, and the city of Myrtle Beach and Coastal Carolina University are teaming up to revive the buildings to their previous state. The city hopes to have the project finished by summer 2024.


Stars and Strikes Getaway-n-Play

Opening in Fall 2022, Stars and Strike Getaway-n-Play is a new family entertainment complex coming to Myrtle Beach’s Coastal Grand Mall. The 52,500-square-foot Stars and Strikes Getaway-n-Play will offer ‘high-tech’ bowling, an arcade, a multi-story laser tag arena and axe throwing and brings a new kind of experience to the growing shopping centre!


K1 Speed Indoor Go-Kart Track

North Myrtle Beach is welcoming a new indoor go-kart track with electric karts reaching up to 30 mph that is now open! K1 Speed is also available for birthday parties, bachelor parties, corporate events, and more. This location features an adult and junior indoor track, a lounge restaurant, and a meeting room. Downtown Myrtle Beach Arts & Innovation District

The City of Myrtle Beach is committed to revitalizing and improving the Arts & Innovation District at Ninth Avenue North in downtown Myrtle Beach. This District includes six renovated storefronts that have been preserved to show the original history of the buildings. One of the storefronts is now the HTC Aspire Hub, a co-workspace for innovators and artists to flourish, made possible by HTC, Inc. and eMYRge group. Also, Le Manna Bakery, will tentatively open in spring 2022 in another storefront along Ninth Avenue in this District.


Landmark Resort Waterpark 

Landmark Resort will be building a 9,800 square foot waterpark at its location on Ocean Boulevard. The waterpark will feature several water slides and will be an exclusive amenity of guests at Landmark resort. The Hangout

Broadway at the Beach is adding a new restaurant, retail, and entertainment venue to its Entertainment District, called The Hangout. The new venue is now open! The Hangout is a new gathering place for great food and family fun. It will also offer live music year-round both on indoor and outdoor stages. For more information, visit www.thehangout.com.


American Surf Parks

Myrtle Beach will soon be home to South Carolina’s first man-made surf park, called American Surf Park. The park’s surfing lagoon will generate up to 1,000 waves per hour, with waves between 2-6 feet in height. The development will also include an amphitheater to accommodate up to 15,000 people, a surf school, a restaurant, and a brewery. Surfside Beach Pier

The Surfside Beach Pier was destroyed and washed away during Hurricane Matthew in 2016. The town of Surfside Beach is reconstructing their iconic pier to withstand hurricane force winds, making it stronger and safer than ever before. Action Water Sportz

For the 2022 season, Action Water Sportz will be moving into a new office space at their Cherry Grove Beach location at Grande Harbor Marina 4430 Kingsport Rd. Little River, SC. Action Water Sportz will also feature a giveaway for a free Yamaha wave runner that will run throughout the summer season.


Country Music is back at Alabama Theatre

Alabama Theatre welcomes a new cast member to perform some of Country’s most iconic songs. With the addition of more country music, they will also be featuring another new member, a fiddle player, who will play everyone’s favourite classics. 50th year of Art in the Park

Waccamaw Arts and Crafts Guild is holding its 50th year of Art in the Park, with the last dates this year November 12 and 13, 2022 at Valor Park at Market Common. EdVenture to Double in Size

EdVenture, a popular children’s educational attraction in Myrtle Beach, is planning on doubling in size by the spring. This expansion will allow for more programming and event space and will be located just steps away from the original site on Howard Avenue in The Market Common. The new location opened May 2022.


Grande Dunes Resort Club Golf Course

The golf course at the Grande Dunes Resort Club will undergo an extensive greens, bunker, and clubhouse renovation project this summer. The updates are to be led by architect John Harvey who helped design the original course. The renovations are expected to be completed in fall 2022.


Tanger Outlets

The Tanger Outlet location on Highway 17 North has partnered with Tidal Creek Brewhouse to bring a local beer garden. Located near the food court, this open-air beer garden offers a rotation of locally brewed craft beers along with wine and seltzers.


B&B Theatres

The B&B Theatres in Conway closed for a 10-week renovation and plans to reopen in November 2022. Movie goers can expect a higher level of comfort once renovations are complete, as the anticipated changes include all-new heated reclining seats throughout the building. The theatre will also be receiving an enhanced snack area to a new bar where patrons can purchase alcoholic beverages.

 


EVENTS & SHOWS


Carolina Country Music Festival 

The sixth annual Carolina Country Music Fest (CCMF) will return to Myrtle Beach from June 8-11, 2023. For more information, visit www.carolinacountrymusicfest.com.


Conway Riverwalk Event Space

A brand new amphitheatre is coming to Downtown Conway. The new space will host events such as movie screenings, live music, and performing arts shows. The amphitheatre is part of an ongoing effort by the City of Conway to make use of its unused spaces in an effort to make the city more walkable and accessible for residents and visitors.


Conway Theater
