More flexibility with G Adventures’ new 14-day rebooking policy

TORONTO — G Adventures is aiming to provide more flexibility with a new 14-day rebooking policy.

Travellers can rebook itineraries up to just 14 days before a tour’s departure date, says the company.

The updated conditions apply to tours booked from July 1, 2021 up until Dec. 31, 2021, for departure dates up until Dec. 31, 2022.

The news comes with a week to go before quarantine measures begin to ease for fully vaccinated Canadian and permanent residents returning to Canada. The travel advisory is still in place, but booking volumes are on the rise for travel in the months ahead.

The new Book with Confidence policy will include Inca Trail bookings made from July 1, 2021, for when trips resume on the trail from Aug. 7, 2021.

G Adventures is encouraging travellers to book bucket list trips for the Inca Trail as soon as possible, as the trail will be running at 50% capacity, meaning groups will have no more than eight travellers on each departure. Permits are on sale now for the 2021 season but will likely sell out fast, says the company.

The Inca Trail tours join G Adventures’ list of more than 200 trips departing in August, as more destinations are opening up and keen to welcome travellers. There are also currently 165 tour departures available in the month of July.

“We’ve seen a welcome increase in bookings and search interest in the past two weeks, and we expect this to continue as customer confidence returns and pent-up demand for long-awaited holidays is realized. We also know our travellers are looking for more active trips and bucket list adventures, so being able to bring back the Inca Trail with more booking flexibility is ideal. Travellers keen to do this hike will want to be quick to secure their permits to enjoy the Inca trail while it operates at half the standard capacity,” says David Green, Vice President Commercial at G Adventures.

Green adds: “At G Adventures we have been running trips since September 2020, so as soon as travellers are ready to book, we are ready to take them on a life-changing adventure. We anticipate demand is going to return very fast from this point forward, so if travellers want to take a trip, and know when they want to go, now is the time to lock in those dates while supply is there.”

Three sample Inca Trail itineraries available to book now are the 8-day Inca Discovery (from $1,649 per person, departing Aug. 7, 2021); the 12-day Classic Peru (from $2,699 per person, departing Aug. 21, 2021) and the 21-day Absolute Peru (from $4,149 per person, departing Aug. 7, 2021).
