Executives with Melia Hotels International, one of the largest hotel companies in the world with seven brands including Melia Hotels & Resorts and Paradisus Hotels & Resorts, were in Toronto to talk about future plans and the launch of the Melia Pro agent portal.

TORONTO — Travel agents who book Melia Hotels International properties using the new Melia Pro agent portal can earn up to 16% commission on all bookings. Net rates are also available, as are agent rates worth up to 25% off.

Melia Hotels International executives were on hand at a recent industry event in Toronto to talk up the recently launched portal. Melia Pro is an exclusive resource centre just for travel agents with an easy-to-use booking engine and competitive rates. Agents can also accumulate points through the new loyalty platform, Melia Pro Rewards, which replaces Mas Amigos. All current Mas Amigos member points will be automatically transferred to the new program upon registration at meliapro.com.

A new Paradisus property in Costa Rica, the Paradisus Papagayo Bay, is scheduled to open in 2016. Among its accommodation options will be 20 three-bedroom villas.

Melia will also have a property at the expansive new Baha Mar development currently taking shape in the Bahamas.
