Meet Puerto Rico appoints new VP of sales

SAN JUAN — Gabriela Ong has been named the new Vice President of Sales at Meet Puerto Rico (MPR), the Destination Marketing Organization (DMO) responsible for attracting and growing brand awareness to Puerto Rico through meeting and incentive sales.

Based in the New York area, Ong has more than 16 years of sales experience in the hospitality industry, including the past three as Brand Sales Manager, Northeast for MPR. Before joining MPR in 2014, she was the Group Sales Manager at the InterContinental New York Barclay, and also served as Sales Manager for various hotel brands, including Marriott International and Sheraton Stamford.

In her new role at MPR, Ong will oversee sales efforts worldwide and will be responsible for leading the recently announced fiscal year sales program that includes approximately 60 sales and promotional events. These include trade fairs, press trips and networking activities in cities like Toronto, Chicago, Orlando, Las Vegas, Frankfurt, Barcelona, Mexico City and Montego Bay.
