VANCOUVER — Malaysia’s newly appointed Minister of Tourism and Culture, the Honorable Dato’ Seri Mohamed Nazri Abdul Aziz, launched a contest for travel agents as well as plans for the Visit Malaysia Year 2014 campaign.
In his address, the Minister announced the launch of the ‘Know your Malaysia’ Facebook sweepstakes that will give one lucky winner an opportunity to visit Malaysia with a free flight for two from Canada to Kuala Lumpur, the country’s capital.
He also unveiled the ‘Buy and Win’ Trade Incentive with Travelweek, a contest for travel agents competing for a chance to win a trip for two to Malaysia. The contests are part of an effort to grow online engagement and to inspire travel to Malaysia for both online consumers and travel agents.
The Minister also explained that Visit Malaysia Year 2014 will be based on four experiential themes which highlight the diverse attractions in Malaysia. These themes are: Heritage & Culture, Adventure & Nature, Wellness & Spa, and Island & Beaches.
The Minister’s sales mission to Canada concluded with cultural performances and entertainment for the guests that included the Dance Cultural Troupe from Malaysia.
