TORONTO — Approximately 256,000 tourists from around the world arrived in Israel in November 2013, a 15% increase compared to the same period last year and a new all-time high for tourism to Israel.

Much of the growth is due to the arrival of 23% more Canadians and 13% more Americans – for North America is the largest single source of tourism to Israel.

“We are thrilled to see the continued increase in tourism from North America to Israel this year, which is a direct result of the Ministry of Tourism’s public relations and marketing efforts around the world,” said Ami Allon, Consul for Tourism, Israel Government Tourist Office – Canada. “We hope to welcome a new wave of travellers arriving in Israel this month to experience our diverse array of natural, modern and historic attractions and unique events taking place across the country.”
