Iberostar Group creates Medical Advisory Board in response to COVID-19

PALMA DE MALLORCA — In preparation for the “new normal” following the COVID-19 pandemic, Iberostar Group has announced the creation of a Medical Advisory Board comprised of public health experts.

The board will help the hotel company make adjustments that include auditing health and safety protocols and designing specific measures to guarantee the safety of customers and staff. These measures, says Iberostar, will follow the guidelines provided by health institutions and public authorities.

Among the board’s experts is Sebastián Crespí Rotger, a specialist and researcher of infectious diseases in tourist environments. Dr. Crespí recently collaborated with the World Health Organization on operational considerations in the accommodation sector during the COVID-19 pandemic.

On what the board will mean for Iberostar Group, Vice-Chairman & CEO Sabina Fluxá says: “As an international hospitality company, people and the environment have always been a priority for Iberostar Group. We face new times and we need new solutions to promote circular economy policies in this scenario. Only resilient companies that are capable of meeting these challenges will be able to compete.”
