Hilton to enter five new markets in 2024

TORONTO — Following a record year of development in 2023, Hilton is gearing up for another year of growth by entering five new markets in 2024.

The hotel company achieved its largest development pipeline in its history last year, with a record opening of 24,000 rooms across 132 hotels in Q4. Hilton now has more new rooms under construction than any other hotel company, with approximately one in every five hotel rooms under construction globally slated to join its portfolio.

After entering new markets including Monaco, Tunisia and the Democratic Republic of Congo in 2023, this year Hilton will open its first hotels in Bermuda, Paraguay, Nepal, Laos and Timor-Leste.

 

BERMUDA

Scheduled to open in Q4 in 2024, Bermudiana Beach Resort, Tapestry Collection by Hilton will mark the first Hilton property in Bermuda. The 111-room resort will be located steps away from pink coral sand beaches and will offer a clifftop bar and restaurant, an oceanview pool bar and grill, a lavish spa, yoga terrace, fitness centre and a secluded beach accessible by elevator.

PARAGUAY

Opening in Q3 this year is Hilton’s first hotel in Paraguay, Hilton Garden Inn Asunción Aviadores del Chaco. Located right off the Avenida Aviadores del Chaco, within two kilometres of Shopping del Sol and Paseo Carmelitas shopping malls, the hotel provides easy access to premier shopping, not to mention Pacific Private University, located less than 10 minutes away. The hotel will also offer an on-site restaurant and a heated indoor pool.

NEPAL

Opening next month in May is Hilton Kathmandu, situated in the heart of the Kathmandu Valley. In addition to panoramic views of the Himalayan mountain range, the hotel boasts 173 guestrooms, customizable event spaces, an all-day dining restaurant, rooftop bar and a grab-and-go deli with a unique street market concept.

LAOS

Hilton will debut in Laos in Q3 with DoubleTree by Hilton Vientiane. Located at the intersection of Rue Setthathilath and Rue Manthatourath, the hotel is situated close to That Dam, an iconic stupa in the heart of the city centre, in a downtown area that’s home to beautiful colonial French architecture and a wide range of quaint restaurants and cafés. Several cultural and historic attractions such as the Presidential Palace and Sisaket Temple also lie within a kilometre of the hotel, making it convenient to explore on foot.

TIMOR-LESTE

Opening in Q3 this year is Hilton Dili Palm Springs, the first international hotel in Timor-Leste, Situated in Dili’s embassy and business district, the hotel boasts views of the mountains and ocean, a contemporary design as well as 150 rooms and suites with Timorese décor and private balconies. Other amenities include four dining venues, eight meeting and event spaces including a rooftop event space, an executive lounge, outdoor pool, fitness centre and Pilates studio.

In addition to these five new markets, Hilton will also see its award-winning brands expand this year to new destinations, including:

  • Motto by Hilton Cusco, Peru (opened January 2024): This 58-room hotel offers an ideal hub or exploring sites like Plaza de Armas, the Cusco Cathedral and the Temple of the Sun Qorikancha.
  • DoubleTree by Hilton Buenos Aires (opened January 2024): Marking the debut property of the brand in Argentina, this hotel features three on-site restaurants and is located near popular attractions like the Obelisco and the Puerto Madero Waterfront.
  • Waldorf Astoria Seychelles Platte Island (opened January 2024): Located 130 kilometres south of Mahé, this new resort is home to a collection of 50 seafront villas featuring up to five bedrooms, all equipped with their own private pool and personal concierge.
  • Kwetu Nairobi, Curio Collection by Hilton (opened March 2024): This new hotel marks the entry of Hilton’s Curio Collection by Hilton brand into East Africa, setting the standard for upscale accommodations in Nairobi, Kenya. The hotel features 102 rooms, dining venues, rooftop bar, 10 meeting rooms, an outdoor heated pool, fully-equipped fitness centre and a spa.
  • Canopy by Hilton Seychelles (opened March 2024): As the first Canopy by Hilton resort property in the world, this new hotel is located on Mahé’s Anse à la Mouche beach, just 10 minutes from Jardin du Roi Spice Garden, and offers 120 locally-inspired guestrooms. Guests can also enjoy two dining venues, a spa and a pool with direct beach access. 
  • DoubleTree by Hilton Lagoa Azores (opening Q2 2024): This newly developed hotel features 101 guestrooms, an all-day dining restaurant, a lobby bar, outdoor pool and poolside bar, a spa and fitness facilities, plus 210 square metres of event space, including four meeting rooms.
  • Keight Hotel Opatija, Curio Collection by Hilton (opening Q2 2024): Located less than two minutes from the sea in the seaside resort town of Opatija, this 54-guestroom hotel will feature a rooftop sundeck with a pool and bar, a second bar and restaurant on the ground floor.
  • Embassy Suites by Hilton Dubai Business Bay (opening Q2 2024): Located only three kilometres from Dubai Downtown, this property offers spacious suites, free made-to-order breakfast every morning, complimentary snacks and drinks at the nightly Evening Reception, and sunlit meetings and event spaces.
  • Motto by Hilton Hong Kong Soho (opening Q3 2024): The first-ever Motto by Hilton in Asia Pacific will offer 274 premium micro rooms, including ones that can be connected and set up as suites, as well as unique activations including local creative events, weekend block parties and third-wave coffee in partnership with local roasters.
  • Canopy by Hilton Osaka Umeda (opening Q3 2024): Marking the brand’s launch in Japan, this 308-room lifestyle hotel spans 16 storeys and offers contemporary service rituals and  relaxed restaurants with menus inspired by Osaka culture.
  • Tru by Hilton Chillan Ferrat (opening Q3 2024): Located in front of the ‘Plaza de Armas’ of Chillan, the hotel is part of the largest mixed-use development of the city that will also include office space and retail. Located just a one-hour drive away from thermal and ski destinations, Tru by Hilton Chillan Ferrat will be the only international branded hotel in the market.
  • Zemi Miches All-Inclusive Resort, Curio Collection by Hilton (opening Q4 2024): Located north of Punta Cana, Dominican Republic in the coastal town of Miches, the brand new 502-room beachfront all-inclusive resort will offer nine food and drink options, a night club, kids club, retail shops, a sprawling pool complex with water park, a fitness centre, juice bar and a dedicated spa building with 10 treatment rooms.
  • Hampton by Hilton Grayston Sandton (opening Q4 2024): This new hotel marks the brand debut of Hampton by Hilton in Africa. It will be situated in one of the most affluent areas in Johannesburg, South Africa, and will offer 158 guestrooms, a welcome zone, fitness area and an outdoor pool.
  • Waldorf Astoria Costa Rica Punta Cacique (opening Q4 2024): Opening in Costa Rica amidst 200 miles of scenic coastline, this hotel will offer 148 expansive guestrooms and 40 suites, a holistic wellness centre with a cenote-inspired spa, a gym, movement studio, outdoor yoga and lap and thermal pools.
