Happy arrival for Air Canada, with latest Skytrax award in tow

TORONTO — There was a big celebration – complete with cupcakes – at the Arrivals Hall at Pearson Airport’s Terminal 1 yesterday as smiling Air Canada executives arrived home with the airline’s new Skytrax award.

Air Canada’s Lucie Guillemette, Executive Vice President and Chief Commercial Officer, and Andrew Yiu, Vice President Product, were on hand with the carrier’s 2018 Skytrax award, recognizing Air Canada as the ‘Best Airline in North America’.

Air Canada has now won the award for second consecutive years, and for seven out of the past nine years.

The Skytrax World Airline Awards are based on passenger satisfaction surveys of approximately 20 million global travellers.

“This award shows that our customers, whom we thank for their continued loyalty, appreciate the investments Air Canada is making to deliver service that is the best in North American and increasingly recognized as industry-leading globally,” said Benjamin Smith, President, Airlines and Chief Operating Officer at Air Canada.
