TORONTO — Congratulations are in order for Blue Diamond Resorts, which is celebrating its 10th anniversary this year after a decade of exponential growth in the Caribbean.
The Canadian owned-and-operated hotel group, part of the Sunwing Travel Group, was founded in 2010 and opened its first property in 2011. Since then, it has grown to include 45 resorts in 10 countries in the most sought-after Caribbean locales.

Most recently, Blue Diamond Resorts expanded Royalton Luxury Resorts by rebranding three of its existing properties, reopening as Royalton CHIC Punta Cana, Royalton CHIC Suites Cancun, and Royalton Splash Punta Cana. It also integrated its boutique hotel chain Mystique by Royalton under the brand umbrella.
The hotel chain has continued its trajectory of growth this year, despite the challenges of the global pandemic. Early in 2020, it opened Royalton Grenada Resort & Spa as a result of the joint venture with Rex Hotels involving seven properties and 1,500 rooms in five islands in the Eastern Caribbean. And still to come later this year are Planet Hollywood Beach Resort Cancun and Planet Hollywood Adult Scene Cancun, both of which will be making their grand debut on the shores of Costa Mujeres on Dec. 15.
