Hamilton International launches 2017/2018 winter program

HAMILTON — John C. Munro Hamilton International Airport (YHM) is kicking off its 2017/2018 winter program with flights to Florida, the Caribbean and Mexico.

Beginning in November, seasonal flights from Hamilton to Orlando will resume. Then in December, travellers will be able to fly from Hamilton to Cuba, the D.R., Jamaica and Mexico. Later in the winter there will also be the option to fly directly from Hamilton to Miami or West Palm Beach.

The winter schedule also includes Canada coast-to-coast service including flights from Hamilton to Calgary, Edmonton, Winnipeg and Halifax with WestJet. WestJet will also once again operate service from Hamilton to Orlando during the winter season.

Air Canada is continuing its twice daily flights to Montreal from Hamilton, a good option for customers travelling to Europe and Asia via Montreal.

Flair Air will also continue to operate flights to various cities in Canada such as Abbotsford, Edmonton and Winnipeg.

Air Transat will offer flights to Cuba (Varadero and Cayo Coco), D.R. (Punta Cana and Puerto Plata) along with Mexico (Cancun). Sunwing will also offer flights to Cuba (Varadero) and the D.R. (Punta Cana) along with significant growth in air service to Jamaica (Montego Bay).

In February and March, Celebrity Cruises will return to Hamilton International with two cruise options: Celebrity Silhouette and Celebrity Equinox. Celebrity Cruises is partnering with Canadian North to provide the airlift for these cruise packages.

Hamilton International bills itself as a low-cost airport option for the busy holiday and winter travel season: “Not only does Hamilton International host low-cost airlines, it offers low-cost parking options for both short-term and long-term trips for as low as $15 a day. Easy access to Hamilton with little traffic congestions, low-cost parking and then a short walk to the terminal and your gate make this an exciting time to see more and pay less to ‘Discover Winter Getaways’ from Hamilton International Airport.”
