Goway has savings for South Africa’s Shongololo Express

TORONTO — Goway Travel is taking 10% off its 15-day Shongololo Good Hope train journey, plus the company is throwing in two free nights of hotel accommodation.

Priced from $7,071 per person in a Gold cabin, the trip is a comprehensive tour of South Africa including Cape Town, the Garden Route, Zululand, Swaziland, the Drakensberg Mountains and Kruger National Park, says Goway. A complimentary pre-night in Cape Town as well as a post-night in Pretoria are also part of the promotion.

“The Shongololo Express already offers excellent value for money considering it includes accommodation, transportation, sightseeing and two meals a day,” said Kirsty Perring, Acting General Manager, AFRICAExperts. “It’s like cruising Africa, by rail!”

The Shongololo Express is a “unique train safari, and one of the most convenient ways of seeing Southern Africa”, she adds. It travels between destinations at night, allowing for exploration during the day. The recently refurbished train has two cabin categories, Gold and Emerald, both with en-suite. Breakfast and dinner are prepared on board and served daily in the restaurant, with lunches at guests’ own expense.

Some off-rail excursions are included in the price while others can be purchased optionally while on tour. The Good Hope journey offers both a golfing and non-golfing itinerary at the same time. Golfers get to play at some of the best courses in Southern Africa, while others can enjoy a range of activities more suited to their interests, says Perring.
