Goway and Aqua Expeditions team up to offer Cousteau-led voyages

TORONTO — The son of legendary ocean explorer Jacques Cousteau will be hosting three incredible Peruvian voyages, and both Goway Travel and Aqua Expeditions will be coming along for the ride.

Both companies have teamed up to showcase the new Jean-Michel Cousteau hosted departures along the Peruvian Amazon. Departures include: Oct. 5-12 (seven nights); Oct. 5-8 (three nights), and Oct. 8-12 (four nights). Prices start from $5,655.

Led by Jean-Michel and the local guides onboard the Aria Amazon, guests will learn first-hand about what makes the Peruvian Amazon so precious. Twice-daily excursions afford guests the opportunity to meet an indigenous community, head deep into the jungle in search of rare wildlife specific to the region, and hit the local markets. There will also be the chance to see good work in action at the Manatee Rescue Centre in Iquitos, which rescues and rehabilitates orphaned Amazon manatees.

Jean-Michel, who founded the Ocean Futures Society in 1999 to promote ocean conservation, is an award-winning producer of more than 80 films. He will leave evening talks on each voyage, as well as screen some of his films.

“After journeys like this, I am inspired with the greatest sense of hope that we will continue to all work together and keep in motion the many solutions already in place for keeping this magnificent, vital river system alive and thriving. I am looking forward to my next adventure onboard the Aria Amazon with guests from around the world as we explore together a place that connects us all to nature and to our water planet,” he said.

Aqua Expeditions is a valued partner of Goway Travel. For more information go to goway.com.
