G Adventures unveils new Galapagos yacht, book now for free airfare

TORONTO — A sixth yacht is coming to G Adventures’ fleet of vessels, this one dedicated to sailing the Galapagos Islands.

The custom-built, 103-foot Reina Silvia Voyager catamaran will cruise the Galapagos as a high-end touring vessel on 40 different itineraries ranging in length from seven to 17 days. According to the company, the yacht will help meet increasing demand for the destination, which has seen a 19% surge in global bookings since January 2016.

A total of 16 passengers will be accommodated in 10 cabins on two decks. Eight of those cabins are designed for twin/double stays, while two are for solo travellers who prefer their own space. Eight rooms come equipped with private balconies, and all rooms have panoramic windows for optimal ocean viewing.

Common areas will include an expansive third deck with lounge chairs, covered cocktails bar, grill station and an outdoor Jacuzzi tub. An indoor, air-conditioned salon with large video screen will allow for visual presentations by trained naturalists.

Passengers will have access to nine onboard kayaks and two zodiacs to explore the region’s remote ports and rocky coasts. Wetsuits and snorkelling gear will also be freely available, as will beach towels and hairdryers. All meals onboard are included and will accommodate vegetarian, vegan gluten-free and allergy-sensitive diets.

“We are thrilled to present a new option for experiencing some of the magic that the Galapagos has to offer, in a way that offers immersive, responsible travel without compromise on comfort,” said Yves Marceau, G Adventures’ Vice President of Product. “Adventure travel is about seeing how other communities live and gaining access to places that most people have only read or dreamed about. Roughing-it is not required.”

To entice clients to book now, G Adventures is offering free, roundtrip international flights from Toronto, New York, Miami and Los Angeles to Quito, Ecuador when booking select Galapagos departures on the Reina Silvia Voyager by Sept. 30, 2019.
