Evan Evans goes green with first fully electric motorcoach

TORONTO — Evan Evans Tours is doing its part to help the environment, with the launch f is first fully electric, zero-emission motorcoach on select itineraries.

The coach, an industry first by a major sightseeing tour operator in London, is available on fully-guided tours and can travel 200 miles on a full charge. It features complimentary Wi-Fi, USB charging onboard and air conditioning, all while producing zero emissions from transportation.

“We are excited to be launching our first fully electric, zero-emission motorcoach to our valued guests from around the world who want to enjoy guided day tours around London while helping to reduce our carbon footprint,” said Tom Macklin, Managing Director of Evan Evans Tours, part of The Travel Corporation. “These first zero-emission tour departures are part of Evan Evans’ contribution to our sustainability strategy, ‘How We

TreadRight,’ which we share with our sister brands at The Travel Corporation.”

The vehicle will be available on select day tour departures including: Buckingham Palace and Royal Windsor Tour, Warner Bros. Studio Tour London, and select London Day Tours.

In addition to having zero emissions, the vehicle is PSVAR compliant (The Public Service Vehicles Accessibility Regulations), which enables guests who are fully confined to a wheelchair to travel onboard, with help from an electric chair lift.

“This is a genuinely exciting first step towards our goal to achieve net zero,” added Shannon Guihan, Chief Sustainability Officer of The Travel Corporation. “We are in the throes of having TTC’s science-based carbon reduction targets validated by the Science Based Targets Initiative and transitioning our fleet of vehicles will play a pivotal role in achieving our net zero ambition. We hope the introduction of Evan Evans’ first electric coach shows guests what’s possible and what they can expect from us.”
