Direct Travel & Vision Travel gives back to Ontario healthcare workers

TORONTO — Direct Travel and Vision Travel are taking the time to say thank you to Ontario’s healthcare workers through a new healthcare appreciation program.

Over the past few weeks, team members visited hospitals in Guelph, Georgetown, Milton and Oakville to provide personal hand sanitizers and a variety of comfort foods as selected by hospital staff. Additional visits to more hospitals across Canada are now being planned.

“We are all faced with a variety of challenges due to COVID-19 but it is important we all try to support our frontline healthcare workers,” said Ian Race, SVP corporate sales for Direct Travel, Canada West. “The travel industry has been devastated by this pandemic, but it doesn’t mean we stop thinking of others.”

Over the years, Direct Travel and Vision Travel have worked to give back to different communities and have supported various charitable organizations such as Make-A-Wish Canada, the Canadian Red Cross and the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation.

“I am continually impressed by the dedication shown by our team in servicing our essential services clients who continue to travel and additionally to giving back to the communities where we live and do business,” added Brian Robertson, president, Direct Travel, Canada West.

Vision Travel, A Direct Travel Company, has retail storefronts in 40 communities across Canada and the outreach will continue over the coming months.
