TORONTO — Travel Nevada has launched a new Specialist Challenge for the Canadian travel trade that includes a spot on a Nevada FAM.
Designed to help travel professionals become more confident selling the destination, the Nevada Specialist Challenge invites non-specialist travel advisors and front-line staff to complete two simple steps for a chance to win one of eight Nevada self-drive FAM trips.
The eight prize experiences are designed to highlight the breadth of Nevada’s tourism offerings, showcasing destinations including Las Vegas and Reno, along with scenic road trips, outdoor landscapes and regional experiences beyond the state’s best-known gateways. FAMs include return economy-class airfare from a major Canadian airport, accommodation, group sightseeing and experiences, and most meals.
Participants must complete the Nevada Specialist Program and the 10-minute Reno Tahoe Certified Travel Advisor course between Aug. 6 and Sept. 30.
Successful participants and selected hosts will be notified by Oct. 15, 2026.
Existing Nevada Specialists can apply to become a hosted itinerary leader by completing the Reno Tahoe Certified Travel Advisor course and submitting the official host application form by Sept. 30.
According to Travel Nevada, the initiative comes as destination expertise becomes increasingly valuable for travel advisors looking to differentiate themselves and better serve clients.
