TORONTO — Canadian travellers can now obtain a Sri Lankan tourist visa free of charge for stays of up to 30 days.
As of May 25, 2026, Canadian nationals are eligible for a free Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA) allowing double entry during the 30-day period.
Travellers must still apply for the ETA online before departure. Those wishing to remain in Sri Lanka for more than 30 days will need to apply for an extension and pay the applicable visa fee.
The Consulate General of Sri Lanka in Toronto notes that ETA fees paid before May 25, 2026 are non-refundable.
To apply for the free-of-charge Visa, go to http://www.eta.gov.lk.
