PORT TAMPA BAY, FL — Margaritaville at Sea has set its sights on expansion, adding a second ship that will operate sun-soaked Caribbean itineraries.
The new flagship vessel, Margaritaville at Sea Islander, will sail four- and five-night cruises from Port Tampa Bay, Florida starting June 14, 2024, featuring stops in Key West, Cozumel and Progreso. The news about Margaritaville at Sea Island comes on the heels of Margaritaville at Sea Paradise, which launched in summer 2022 as the cruise line’s first ship. Margaritaville at Sea rebranded from Bahamas Paradise Cruise Line in early 2022.
“Since we launched our first ship, Margaritaville at Sea Paradise, last year, we’ve been working to expand what our guests have been asking for: more amazing views, longer itineraries, and new ports of call,” said Christopher Ivy, CEO of Margaritaville at Sea. “We are also pleased to add Tampa as a new homeport – the perfect location to provide access to our adventurous new itineraries in and around the Gulf of Mexico.”

THE SHIP
Margaritaville at Sea Islander spans 12 passenger decks, accommodating 2,650 guests in total. Currently undergoing an extensive transformation, the ship will fully redesign all 1,100 staterooms – including over 700 Breezy Balcony staterooms, Grand Terrace Suites and luxurious Corner Suites – with all-new furnishings.
The ship will boast a 14-storey atrium with a nautical Margaritaville flip flop and a lively atrium bar with multi-storey floating margarita glass chandeliers. Other innovations include the only three-storey poolside LandShark Bar at Seat and a Margaritaville-inspired cornhole and minigolf course alongside new family-friendly spaces like the Caribbean Amphibian Splash and Slide. Signature favourites include JWB Prime Steakhouse and Rita’s Taco House, Paradise Pickleball at Sea, Frank and Lola’s Pizzeria, Margaritaville Coffee Shop, and Cheeseburger in Paradise.
