Crystal confirms third next-gen ocean ship, coming in 2034

MIAMI — Crystal has taken another step in its long-term fleet expansion plans, confirming that its contract with Italian shipbuilder Fincantieri for a third next-generation ocean ship is now in effect.

The new vessel is scheduled for delivery in May 2034 and forms part of the option Crystal exercised in 2024, reinforcing the luxury cruise line’s continued investment in fleet growth.

The new ship will join Crystal Grace, currently under construction at Fincantieri’s Marghera shipyard and scheduled to debut in 2028, as well as a second sister ship slated to enter service in May 2031.

Together, the three vessels will represent the next generation of Crystal’s luxury cruise experience, with a continued focus on personalized service, spacious accommodations and destination-rich travel.

“Seeing Crystal Grace move from vision to reality has been tremendously rewarding, and today’s announcement demonstrates our unwavering confidence in Crystal’s future,” said Manfredi Lefebvre d’Ovidio, Executive Chairman of parent company A&K Travel Group. “This third ship reflects our long-term commitment to the brand and to our guests, who continue to inspire us to raise the standard for luxury cruising around the world.”

Like its sister ships, the third vessel will accommodate 650 guests based on double occupancy and measure approximately 62,000 gross tons. The ship will feature all-veranda suites, including an expanded Owner’s Suite, and new accommodation categories designed to appeal to evolving traveller preferences, including solo travellers. Crystal also says the vessel will maintain one of the highest crew-to-guest ratios in the luxury cruise sector.

The newbuild will also feature expansive indoor and outdoor public spaces, including a full wraparound promenade inspired by those aboard Crystal Symphony and Crystal Serenity.

Other features will include open-air venues, outdoor relaxation spaces and al fresco dining terraces connected to the ship’s specialty restaurants.
