Avalon expands France river cruise portfolio for 2027

TORONTO — Avalon Waterways is expanding its France river cruise portfolio for 2027 with the launch of two new multi-river itineraries and additional special interest sailings.

The new itineraries include Seine & Rhine Revealed, which combines Paris and Normandy with the Rhine region’s castles and vineyards, and France Unveiled: Seine & Rhône , which connects Paris and Provence with an optional extension to the French Riviera.

“These journeys reflect how people want to travel today,” said Pam Hoffee, President of Avalon Waterways. “They’re looking to get the most out of their international journey in a single trip – with greater depth, more variety and the ease of knowing every detail has been thoughtfully handled. But that’s not all: with Avalon, guests can also customize their experience through Avalon Choice Excursions and enjoy a different side of each destination after dark. Our cruises are designed to feel elevated and personal, from start to finish.”

Avalon is also increasing its France capacity in 2027 with the addition of the Avalon Artistry II on the Seine River. The move comes as demand for France river cruising continues to grow. According to Avalon’s recent Wish List survey of 10,000 past guests, 35% named France as the destination they most want to visit next.

In addition to traditional sailings, Avalon will continue offering passion-driven Special Interest cruises focused on themes such as WWII history in Normandy, French wine regions, culinary traditions and jazz culture.

Travellers will also have access to Avalon Choice Excursions, allowing them to personalize their experiences through Classic, Active and Discovery-style excursions tailored to different travel interests.

“When guests show us where they want to go, we meet them there,” added Hoffee. “Right now, that place is France.”
