AmaWaterways expands combination cruise offerings with new “Grand’ voyages

CALABASAS, CA — AmaWaterways is appealing to travellers looking for longer getaways with a series of new combination cruises in Europe for 2025.

The new ‘Grand’ series of 14-night itineraries combine two popular seven-night sailings into one convenient voyage. There are three ‘Grand’ itineraries in total, with transfers between rivers included, where applicable.

To entice cruisers to book, AmaWaterways is also offering Early Booking Reward savings of up to 20% on select sailings to those reserving their staterooms on these 2025 sailings by Dec. 31, 2023.

“As the demand for more extensive travel experiences continues to rise, we are thrilled to unveil three new 14-night itineraries set to debut in 2025,” said Kristin Karst, co-founder and executive vice president of AmaWaterways. “The new Grand series offers combination cruising complete with complimentary transfers between ships, and the choice of up to 40 included excursions, making it even more convenient for our guests to fully immerse themselves in the history, culture and culinary delights of France, Germany and the Netherlands.”

The new Grand itineraries include the following:

  • Grand Seine & Bordeaux: This 14-night river cruise takes travellers through four waterways in France: the Seine, Garonne and Dordogne rivers, as well as the Gironde Estuary. It combines two of AmaWaterways’ most popular itineraries – ‘Paris & Normandy’ aboard AmaLyra, and ‘Taste of Bordeaux’ aboard AmaDolce – and includes train transfer between Paris and Bordeaux. There are 15 departures sailing from March through October 2025.
  • Grand Seine & Rhône: This 14-night river cruise explores the treasures of the Seine and Rhône rivers in France, combining the best of AmaWaterways’ ‘Paris & Normandy’ and ‘Essence of Burgundy & Provence’ itineraries. Guests will visit world-famous monasteries, relax on Normandy’s stunning coastline and explore French châteaux. Train connections are included from Paris to Dijon. There are 11 departures sailing from March through November 2025.
  • Grand Rhine & Dutch Canals: Sailing from Amsterdam to Basel aboard AmaStella, this 14-night river cruise combines AmaWaterways’ popular ‘Best of Holland & Belgium’ and ‘Enchanting Rhine’ and ‘Captivating Rhine’ itineraries. There are nine departures sailing from July through December 2025.

Other curated 14-night voyages include the ‘Grand Danube’ sailing between Vilshofen, Germany and Giurgiu, Romania, and ‘Magnificent Europe’ sailing between Amsterdam, Netherlands and Budapest, Hungary.

Each of these journeys can be combined with pre- or post-cruise land packages, during which guests can enjoy a choice of guided excursions, hiking and biking tours and exclusive events.

Prices start at $8,523 per person, double occupancy, cruise only, including transfers between ships when applicable and port charges.
