Couples Sans Souci to complete multi-million-dollar makeover in December

TORONTO — Couples Resorts Jamaica will debut a brand new Couples Sans Souci in December following a US$12 million renovation.

Scheduled for completion by Dec. 1, 2022, just in time for the holiday season, Couples Sans Souci in Ocho Rios, one of Couples Resorts’ four all-inclusive luxury oceanfront properties, will debut a new restaurant, upgraded spa facilities and public spaces, and a variety of suite enhancements ranging from new furnishings to large walk-in showers.

Upgraded suites will feature all-new warm wood furnishings, natural textures and pastel pops pf colour. Other highlights include new sliding doors of double-paned glass leading to furnished balconies or patios, newly redesigned bathrooms with large walk-in showers clad in Italian porcelain, and new LED lighting. Some suites offer his-and-hers showers while select penthouses will now feature terrace tubs.

In addition to suite renovations, the renovation also includes makeovers to popular public spaces including the lobby, pool and restaurants, in addition to the following:

  • New culinary offerings including Asian-themed specialties served steps from the shore
  • Java, a new coffee bar off the lobby where guests can enjoy Blue Mountain coffee and signature pastries
  • A new massage hut alongside the Lily Pond and upgraded spa gazebos
  • An expanded and enhanced Balloon Bar featuring additional space for nightly entertainment
  • Updates to multiple restaurants and bars including a new open kitchen concept and fine wine display in Casanova Restaurant

“In virtually every respect, the resort will be new,” said Abe Issa, President of Sales & Marketing at Couples Resorts. “We’ve taken exceptional care to ensure that the renovation perfectly complements the resort’s uniquely beautiful location, which features a serene crescent beach, lush tropical gardens and a natural mineral spring pool.”

Issa also noted that the renovation schedule was carefully planned to have very little, if any, impact on the resort experience. As of Aug. 1, the majority of public spaces are open and operational, including the main swimup bar, Beach Grill, Veggie Bar, Martini Bar, Sunset Beach Bar, Palazzina, Bella Vista, Sunset Beach Grill and in-suite dining. Spa and salon services, as well as gym and fitness facilities, are available, along with multiple pools including Couples San Souci’s famous Mineral Spa, the main pool, Grotto and the au naturel Sunset Beach pool.
