Collette Foundation joins humanitarian efforts for earthquake relief in Turkey, Syria

PAWTUCKET, RI — The Collette Foundation is joining the huge humanitarian effort aimed at helping the hundreds of thousands of people who have been injured or impacted by the devastating earthquakes that have hit both Turkey and Syria.

The Collette Foundation is supporting this effort with direct contributions to the following organizations:

  • World Central Kitchen, supporting local residents and first responders with immediate relief, including fresh meals to those who need it most.
  • Direct Relief, focusing on supporting search and rescue efforts in the near term. Direct Relief has worked hard to gather and send donations to AKUT, the leading search and rescue team in Turkey that has deployed teams to the earthquake zone, and reports over 1,700 collapsed buildings, no power, and below-freezing temperatures. Over the next several weeks, the organization is looking to provide funding to make as many medical teams available as possible, in order to get the appropriate treatment to those injured in the earthquakes.

Says Collette CEO Dan Sullivan: “Our thoughts are with those who have been impacted by the earthquakes in Turkey and Syria. We’re thankful that we’re able to make contributions to the relief efforts through the Collette Foundation. Both ‘Word Central Kitchen’ and ‘Direct Relief’ have been doing and continue to do great work to help those affected by this disaster.”
