Collette adds new FIT training on matching clients to travel styles

TORONTO — Collette is giving travel advisors new tools to match clients with the travel experiences that suit them, with a new Collette University module focused on the differences between premium guided tours and Fully Independent Travel (FIT).

The self-paced course, ‘FIT or Guided: Finding Your Clients’ Match’, is designed to help advisors identify traveller preferences, ask more effective discovery questions and make recommendations that reflect each client’s expectations, comfort level and preferred pace.

“Helping travel advisors create the right travel experience for their clients starts with understanding what motivates each traveller,” said Diana Ditto, Vice President of Growth Strategy and Product Marketing.

“This latest Collette University module gives advisors practical tools to better identify travel preferences, ask more meaningful discovery questions, and match clients with journeys that align with their expectations. It’s another example of how we’re investing in resources that help our advisor partners grow their expertise and deliver exceptional service.”

WHAT YOU’LL LEARN

The training explores when clients may be better suited to a premium guided tour, which offers expert planning, destination insights and coordinated logistics, or an independent itinerary that allows for greater flexibility and customization.

Participants will learn client-discovery techniques, conversation starters and selling strategies to uncover what travellers want from their vacations. The goal is to help advisors make more confident recommendations based on individual travel styles and priorities.

The new module is the latest addition to Collette’s ongoing investment in advisor education and support. It is available on demand through Collette University, allowing advisors to complete the training on their own schedule.

Advisors who are new to the platform can begin with Collette University 101, an introduction to Collette’s travel collection, tools and advisor resources. The introductory programme offers learning paths for advisors new to the industry, with less than five years of experience, and those with more than five years in the field.
