Christmas comes early with WOW air’s seasonal fares to Europe

TORONTO — WOW air is celebrating Christmas early with seasonal low-cast fares to Europe, featuring prices from Toronto and Montreal starting at $149.99.

Tickets are now on sale for routes from both gateways, with a special rate on one-way travel to Frankfurt, Amsterdam, Dublin and Edinburgh, for travel between Nov. 1 and Dec. 13, 2017.

As always, an unlimited ‘free’ stopover in Iceland is available. Flights depart from Toronto Pearson (YYZ) and Montréal’s Pierre Elliott Trudeau (YUL) airports, via Reykjavik.

To make the most of your clients’ holidays, WOW suggests the following events and attractions:

  • Frankfurt’s ‘Christkindchesmarket dates back to 1393 and is considered one of the largest and oldest outdoor Christmas markets in all of Europe. Visitors can shop for traditional festive German fare and admire St Paul’s Square Christmas tree, a tradition that began in Germany.
  • In mid-December, Amsterdam’s Museum Square transforms into a Christmas Village, complete with a Christmas market where visitors can enjoy mulled wine, hot chocolate, Dutch treats and ice skating. As part of the city’s Light Festival, they can also walk or take a boat tour to admire the light sculptures, projections and art installations along the city’s famous canals.
  • In December, Dublin’s ‘Fair City’s’ party includes a Santa’s Grotto at Arnotts department store, where guests can enjoy a variety of food and drink. Also, be sure to check out O’Connell Street to view the world famous Christmas tree lights and old-fashioned carousels.
  • In Edinburgh, a traditional Christmas Market can be found in the East Princes Street Gardens, featuring stalls of crafters and artists, gifts and traditional gastronomic delights.
