TORONTO — Switzerland is launching the Certified Switzerland Advisor course on Travelweek’s Learning Centre.
Agents that complete the course before Dec. 9 will be entered to win a trip for two to Zurich, Switzerland.
“Switzerland Tourism has been delivering the Certified Switzerland Advisor program for a number of years for the North American market, but this is the first time that we launch an initiative for Canada only,” says Evelyn Lafone, Director, Switzerland Tourism Canada. “The modules are easy to follow and give agents an insight into the basics like arriving into Switzerland, how to get around Switzerland and then moving into the different seasons and attractions of Switzerland.”
Switzerland is a small country situated in the heart of heart of Europe and the heart of the Alps offering beautiful mountain landscapes, great outdoor activities, sophisticated cities and fabulous food. The Certified Switzerland Advisor course provides practical information on travel to the country, helping travel agents plan and market successful trips.
“Switzerland is located in the heart of Europe with Germany, Italy, France and Austria right at the doorstop and easily reached by high speed rail. In Switzerland visitors get to experience many different cultures and four official languages all in a small country, great for travellers who are time poor,” continues Lafone. “The Swiss Travel Pass is the best way to visit Switzerland as visitors can travel for free on all public transport, get free access to Swiss museums and discount on the cable cars and many of the scenic trains.”
In the Certified Switzerland Advisor program, agents will learn about: different regions and cities; summer and winter activities; transportation; hotels and accommodation; top attractions; travel tips and much more. This will help agents sell Switzerland with confidence.
Upon completing of the course, agents will qualify for other benefits such as bi-weekly webinars, rights to use the Certified Switzerland Advisor logo, agency listing and referrals on myswitzerland.com and more.
“Agents that complete our program will receive a certificate of graduation as a Certified Switzerland Advisor and receive nine credits from the Association of Canadian Travel Agencies (ACTA). Agents will also be given preference to familiarization trips to Switzerland and receive invitations to Switzerland Tourism events,” says Lafone. “There is also the option to deepen your knowledge and continue your training to become a Certified Switzerland Advisor.
“Clients are most comfortable booking with agents who have a specialized knowledge of a country, so by completing either programs, agents should increase they’re client base,” continues Lafone.
Agents who complete the course by Dec. 9 will be entered to win a holiday for two passengers to Switzerland. The prize includes two Swiss International Air Lines flights from Montreal to Zurich in economy class; five nights accommodation at Sorell Hotel in Zurich; and two first class Swiss Travel Passes.
