Cancun’s COVID-19 alert now at yellow: reports

CANCUN — Cancun has reportedly ramped up its COVID-19 warning level to yellow.

Mexico’s four-tier ‘traffic light system’ for COVID-19 denotes states as red, orange, yellow or green. Much of Mexico is still at the green level, however caseloads have climbed in recent days, as they have around the world, due to the omicron variant.

As reported by The Cancun Sun, the return to yellow level means that Cancun hotels, restaurants, attractions and more will have capacity restrictions, at 60%.

As well, bars, nightclubs and discos will be shut with the yellow level alert.
