Canadian agents big winners at Sandals STAR Awards

PROVINDENCIALES — Canadian agents were well-represented and celebrated at the glamorous Sandals STAR Awards at Beaches Turks & Caicos, taking home top prizes and enjoying a night in the spotlight.

“This evening, as we recognize all our nominees and winners, we applaud the fact that you have earned your place to be here. You are here because you make the choice to sell Sandals and Beaches Resorts every day,” said Maureen Barnes-Smith, Director of Sales & Marketing, Canada. “This weekend is all about our stars. You are the best of the best industry performers.”

On hand to give their gratitude to agents working hard to sell Turks & Caicos were the Deputy Governor of the Turks & Caicos Islands, Anya Williams, and Rufus Ewing, the Premier of the Turks & Caicos Islands, plus several other key government figures and Adam Stewart, CEO and Deputy Chairman of Sandals Resorts International.

“Here on Grace Bay you will find the most beautiful beaches as well as a long coral reef, which is rich with aquatic life,” says Barnes-Smith. “But there is lots more to see and experience on the island, like Chalk Sound on the south side of the island with striking turquoise water.”

The venue for the gala event, the beautiful Beaches Turks & Caicos, has become a family favourite with good reason, with a massive waterpark, Sesame Street characters roaming around property, plus all the amenities and services that make a family vacation fun and stress free. The resort has four different villages, 3,300 feet of beachfront, 23 restaurants and 2,000 staff to serve guests.

“Situated on the amazing 12-mile beach, lapped by clear turquoise waters, the resort offers endless fun activities for everyone,” continued Barnes-Smith. “Beaches Turks & Caicos provides the most comprehensive family vacation, offering every imaginable amenity, and promises to fulfill any vacation dream imaginable.”

While the beachfront was certainly stunning, it was the travel agents who took centre stage at the STAR Awards, recognized and praised for all their hard work.

“We thank you for taking this ride with us and for believing in us and the ability to deliver, not just a good, but a great product to our mutual customers,” said Barnes-Smith. “We applaud your efforts in your respective markets where you are shining, and continue to have a major impact.”

A big congratulations to the Canadian winners:
