Emirates

World’s most valuable airlines brands led by Emirates, Delta, United

Brand Finance has released a report called Airlines 30 2015: The annual report on the world’s most valuable airlines brands. It estimates that the the world’s most valuable airline brands are Emirates, Delta, United, Lufthansa and American Airlines.  No Canadian airlines make the top 30 worldwide.

Emirates is estimated to have a brand value of $6.6bn, up 21% since 2014.  Delta has a brand value of $6.3bn and United $4.9bn, up 34% and 27% respectively.  The value of Lufthansa decreased by 2%, from $4.2bn to $4.1bn, presumably because of issues with strikes and flight cancellations.

Western and Middle Eastern airlines performed well, while Asia suffered from some high profile disasters and ongoing market saturation. The Middle Eastern airline brands continue to benefit from lower fuel costs, economic growth in the region and sport sponsorships.
