Bookings open for AmaWaterways’ 2024 river cruise itineraries

CALABASAS — AmaWaterways has opened reservations for all 2024 river cruise itineraries with an added reward for early bookings.

Guests reserving their 2024 sailings before Dec. 31, 2022 can enjoy 5% Early Booking Rewards on balcony staterooms and suites on select itineraries. For Christmas Market Cruises, Triple Holiday Savings apply.

River cruises in 2024 sail in Europe, Africa, Egypt and Asia. Highlights of the season include a second ship for the Nile, extended seasons on the Douro, Rhine and Danube rivers, plus a new itinerary on the Saône River through the Burgundy region of France. In addition, to assist travel advisors with securing groups, the luxury river cruise line has extended its current pre- or post-cruise Complimentary Land Package offer to groups only travelling on select departures in 2024 with a confirmed group contract and goodwill deposit submitted by Dec. 31, 2022.

Douro Valley

“With an increased demand for intimate travel experiences, we knew how important it was to our guests, particularly those traveling with a group of friends or family, to confirm their 2024 travel plans and begin anticipating the wonderful, enriching vacation that awaits,” said Kristin Karst, executive vice president and co-founder of AmaWaterways. “Our repeat guests and novice river cruise travelers can save 5%* on balcony staterooms and suites by placing a deposit for their 2024 river cruise by December 31, 2022, and then relax knowing that the itinerary and stateroom of their choice are confirmed, while the full payment is not due until 90 days before departure.”

Highlights of the 2024 season include the following:

 

Douro River

AmaWaterways has extended its Portugal river cruising season for 2024 with additional sailings roundtrip from Porto onboard AmaDouro. Travellers will have the opportunity to experience the golden fall foliage along the banks of the Douro River and for the first time ever, discover the joys of this popular destination throughout the festive December period with the final Christmas departure on Dec. 21, 2024.

 


France

New for 2024, a seven-night Flavors of Burgundy itinerary traveling on the Saône River between Dijon and Lyon allows guests to explore the famous wine-producing and culinary region of France. Continuing the trend of longer journeys, guests have the option of conveniently disembarking their first seven-night cruise aboard AmaCello in Lyon and boarding sister ship AmaKristina for an additional seven nights on the Colors of Provence cruise between Lyon and Arles. AmaWaterways offers a 10% combination cruise savings on all second and subsequent river cruises. This brings the number to six unique itineraries in France with optional pre- and post-cruise stays escorted by Cruise Managers in cities such as Paris, Barcelona, Bilboa, Geneva and Nice.

 


Danube River

With nine itineraries offered by six award-winning ships, AmaWaterways continues to attract many repeat guests as well as first-time river cruisers to this fascinating region of Europe. For 2024, AmaMagna offers an early start to the river cruise season on Feb. 11 with a unique itinerary cruising between Vilshofen and Budapest. In addition, AmaViola lives up to its musical name with a series of six Celebration of Classical Music: The Danube departures between Budapest, Hungary and Vienna, Austria. Also available in 2024 are six festive December departures on the unique five-night Majestic Capitals of the Danube itinerary visiting Vienna, Bratislava and Budapest with pre- or post-cruise land packages in Krakow, Poland and Prague, Czech Republic.

Rhine, Main and Moselle Rivers

AmaLucia will kick off a new Rhine season on Feb. 11, 2024. For those looking to discover Western and Central Europe, AmaWaterways offers a variety of 7-, 10- and 11-night cruises along the Rhine, Main and Moselle Rivers. Boasting 10 fascinating itineraries such as Enchanting Rhine,Vineyards of the Rhine & Moselle and Christmas Markets on the Rhine, travellers can sit back and cruise or be as active as they wish as they hike, bike and explore their way through the Netherlands, Germany, France and Switzerland. Guests are also able to extend their stay by adding optional pre- and post-cruise land packages in iconic destinations like Amsterdam, Lucerne, Zurich and Prague. Dutch and Belgian Waterways

While sailing along the remarkable Dutch and Belgian Waterways, guests can explore a variety of legendary towns and famous WWII landmarks such as Amsterdam, Antwerp, Brussels and Gent. Perfect for flower lovers, history buffs and connoisseurs of cheese and chocolate alike, the itineraries include excursions ranging from visiting tulip farms in Hoorn on AmaWaterways’ spring-only Tulip Time sailings,  to full-day tours of Bruges on the Best of Holland & Belgium cruises.

 


Nile River

Following an extremely successful season of sailing with AmaDahlia, AmaWaterways will set sail with its second ship on the Nile, AmaLilia, starting March 4, 2024. The two sister ships will sail the same immersive Secrets of Egypt & Nile itinerary departing on different days, offering an 11-night cruise and land experience that includes a seven-night roundtrip river cruise from Luxor, paired with three nights pre- and one-night post-cruise stays in historic Cairo. Popular optional land packages paired with this destination include Dubai, Jordan and Israel.

Chobe River

Travellers can sail along Africa’s Chobe River aboard the luxurious Zambezi Queen. With five distinct itineraries to choose from, such as Discover Africa and Stars of South Africa, guests explore iconic destinations like Cape Town’s Table Mountain and Victoria Falls. AmaWaterways’ Africa itineraries combine the four-night luxurious river cruise experience with the choice of wildlife land safaris, city stays or cross-country rail travel.

 


Mekong River

Onboard the 124-passenger AmaDara, AmaWaterways offers guests one-of-a-kind sailing experiences along the 12th largest river in the world, the Mekong, with unique itineraries such as the Charms of The Mekong and Riches of The Mekong. Both itineraries can be combined with pre- and post-cruise land packages to discover the ancient ruins of Angkor Wat near Siem Reap, Cambodia, or the bustling centers of Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi, Vietnam, or Bangkok, Thailand.

 


Colombia

Additional details on AmaWaterways 2024 launch of two new ships cruising the Magdalena River in Colombia will be released in January 2023.
