Blue Diamond Resorts hosts first transnational LGBTQ+ forum

TORONTO — As part of its strong commitment to embracing diversity and inclusion, Blue Diamond Resorts recently organized and played host to the first transnational LGBTQ+ Forum.

The event was made up of a series of forums that took place in different countries at several Blue Diamond Resorts properties, where leaders in hospitality from the LGBTQ+ community shared their experiences and thoughts in this industry.

Planet Hollywood Cancun, An Autograph Collection All-Inclusive Resort, Royalton Negril, An Autograph Collection All-Inclusive Resort, and Royalton CHIC Punta Cana, An Autograph Collection All-Inclusive Resort & Casino – Adults Only opened their doors and welcomed hospitality leaders from several leading hotel brands that form part of the LGBTQ+ community to share their experiences in an open mic session while inviting everyone in the hospitality industry to continue embracing inclusion as well as inviting members of the community to consider hospitality as an option to develop their professional paths.

The event also included a roundtable discussion where the main point of debate was how to focus on talent rather than any other characteristic, as well as how to provide a safe environment where fairness and equality are pillars of a healthy company.

“We are sure that activities like this have a very positive impact on our hosts and our industry,” says Mauricio Zarate, VP Operations, Blue Diamond Resorts. “With these initiatives, we are not only showing our support to the community but also to let everybody know that there are companies interested in inclusion and talent development.”

In March 2022, Blue Diamond Resorts hosted a similar initiative to celebrate International Women’s Day, with positive feedback, says Zarate.
