Belize removes all public health measures for entry

BELIZE CITY — Belize has updated its entry requirements, effectively removing all public health measures at land and sea points of entry.

With the updated regulations, which came into effect on July 15, the following changes have been implemented for all people travelling to Belize:

  • Belize Travel Insurance: Purchas of the travel insurance is now optional for entry but it still encouraged for protection against incurred medical and non-medical emergency expenses. For more information click here.
  • Vaccination and Testing: Proof of vaccination or a negative COVID-19 test is no longer required upon arrival and for entry into Belize at all official border points (land and sea).

The Government of Belize is cautioning that in light of the BA.2 and BA.5 subvariants in the country, vaccines remain the best protection against severe disease and death from COVID-19.

International tourists are also reminded that they must book their stay at a BTB-approved hotel.
