Beaches Resorts offers new introductory sailing program at three properties

MONTEGO BAY — Beaches Resorts has launched a new sailing program at Beaches Turks & Caicos Resort Villages & Spa, Beaches Negril Resort & Spa and Beaches Ocho Rios Resort & Golf Club in conjunction with the American Sailing Association (ASA).

During the new ‘Sailing Fun’ experience, guests can participate in a four two-hour session sailing course designed to introduce both children (ages eight and above) and adults to the sport of sailing.

The cost of the program is US$150 per person which includes all four two-hour sessions with fellow Beaches Resorts guests. Alternatively, parents and children can choose to take a private course for a total cost of US$500 for up to four participants. If guests are not able to complete all sessions during their vacation, hours completed can be transferred between all Beaches resorts within 18 months of the first class.

Upon completion, participants will receive a ‘Sailing Fun’ experience card from Beaches Resorts and the ASA. They will also be registered on the ASA website and their participation at Beaches Resorts will count towards an ASA Sailing Certification.

Established in 1983, ASA is an organization that provides standards and curriculum for sailing instruction. The association is comprised of over 300 sailing schools that promote recreational sailing around the world, by administering a system of sailing qualifications. The ASA network includes sailors, professional sailing instructors, sailing schools and charter companies.

The ‘Sailing Fun’ experience can be booked on-site at any Beaches resort or in advance through travel agents.
