Amtrak Vacations helps travellers access the beauty of U.S. national parks

BEVERLY, MA — Amtrak Vacations has launched several new Park Adventure itineraries in celebration of the National Parks Service centennial and its partnership with the National Park Foundation (NPF), showcasing the beauty and wildness of these national treasures.

Yankee Leisure Group and its brand, Amtrak Vacations, announced this multi-year partnership with NPF, the official charity of America’s national parks, who will receive a portion of the revenue to help protect the parks and inspire the next generation of stewards.

“We are thrilled to support the National Park Foundation and do our part to preserve the national parks for generations to come,” said Frank Marini, President of Yankee Leisure Group Inc. “To kick off our partnership, we have created a new Park Adventures logo that will be featured on all of our national park itineraries in our brochures and websites that signify that a portion of the trip will be donated to the National Park Foundation.”

Amtrak Vacations provides 350 unique itineraries in 46 of the lower 48 states, and connects with VIA Rail Canada at train stations in Toronto, Montreal and Vancouver.

Amtrak Vacations has 55 unique national park itineraries with several popular national parks across the U.S. including Crater Lake, Glacier, Grand Canyon, Rock Mountain, Yellowstone and Yosemite. These parks are well known for their awe-inspiring scenery with beautiful mountains, lakes, wildlife, rock formations and more.

In celebration of the partnership and centennial, new itineraries include the 11-day Yellowstone to Yosemite; 7-day Great Southwest and the Grand Canyon; 8-day Rocky Mountain to Yosemite; and 9-day America’s National Parks.

Amtrak Vacations has several different vacation types to choose from like the Independent Rail Journey, shorter Rail Getaways, Escorted Rail Journey, Rail & Sail Vacations and more.

Ticket classes include coach class, business class and sleepers – which are further divided into roomettes or bedrooms. Each train offers dining experiences created by expert chef Michel Richard and his team.

Commission for travel agents starts at 10%, but increases for preferred agents.

Another trip popular with Canadian travellers is the Jazz, Blues and Rock ‘n’ Roll 9-day trip from Chicago to New Orleans to take a journey through American music history. Start in Chicago by exploring the famous blues scene, then head to Memphis, the birthplace of rock ‘n’ roll and home of Graceland, before heading to New Orleans for world class jazz and the famous French Quarter.
