SeaWorld is still riding high on the May 2013 opening of Antarctica: Empire of the Penguin, offering an immersive experience with nearly 250 penguins in an authentic environment. The Antarctica attraction represents the largest expansion in SeaWorld’s history and includes dining and shopping options as well.

“You really get into the realm of the South Pole with Antarctica: Empire of the Penguin,” says SeaWorld rep Angie Llamas. “It’s as up-close an encounter as you can get with these animals, outside of Antarctica itself.”

Next year at Busch Gardens, new attractions include Falcon’s Fury, coming in spring 2014. A 335-foot climb leads to a 60 mile per hour drop – face down – complete with a 90 degree turn. Next year also marks SeaWorld’s 50th anniversary and plans for celebrations are well underway.
