Flair launches first Canada–Bajío route from Vancouver

EDMONTON — Flair Airlines is expanding its international network with the launch of its first-ever service to Mexico’s Bajío region, introducing a new nonstop route from Vancouver.

The airline will begin service between Vancouver International Airport (YVR) and Guanajuato International Airport (BJX) on Oct. 3, marking the first direct connection between Canada and the region. The route will operate weekly, with introductory fares starting at $189.

“Welcoming BJX into our network marks the first-ever direct connection between the Bajío region and Canada,” said Len Corrado, CEO of Flair Airlines. “We’re making it easier for customers to discover this vibrant region with travel that is reliable, easy, and affordable, and built for memorable moments.”

The new service provides access to the Bajío region, known for its cultural heritage and economic significance, and is expected to support both leisure and business travel demand.

“We are very excited to launch this new connection between Vancouver, Canada, and the Bajío region. We are bringing more of Guanajuato to the world, a destination with a unique identity, rich cultural heritage, and a high-value tourism offering,” said Libia Dennise García Muñoz Ledo, the Governor of Guanajuato. “This route not only makes new experiences more accessible but also helps strengthen the ties between our communities and create more opportunities for our people.”
