Air Transat expands winter sun program with three new routes from YUL

MONTREAL — Air Transat is expanding its winter 2026-2027 schedule with the addition of three new sun destinations from Montreal, reinforcing its strategy to grow and diversify its South network.

The carrier will introduce service from Montreal to Oranjestad, Aruba (AUA), Bridgetown, Barbados (BGI) and San José del Cabo, Mexico (SJD) with flights scheduled to begin in December 2026.

Service to Oranjestad will operate once weekly starting Dec. 12, 2026, while Bridgetown will see twice-weekly service beginning Dec. 13, 2026. Flights to San José del Cabo will operate once weekly starting Dec. 10, 2026. Frequencies reflect peak season plans and remain subject to regulatory approvals and airport slot availability.

According to Sebastian Ponce, Chief Revenue Officer at Transat, the expansion responds to sustained interest in warm-weather getaways.

“Demand for sun destinations remains strong, and these three new routes from Montreal allow us to meet that demand by expanding our offering. By adding Aruba, Barbados and Los Cabos, we are continuing to execute a strategy focused on diversifying and optimizing our network to the South, for the benefit of our clients, said Ponce.

The new routes also received support from the local airport authority.

“ADM Aéroports de Montréal is pleased with these new routes served by Air Transat, which will allow travellers to discover vibrant tourist destinations rich in culture,” said Karl Brochu, Vice President, Airport Operations and Air Services Development at ADM. “We are very happy to support our partner Air Transat in expanding its service offering with these new sun destinations that meet the needs of various traveller segments. An airport that offers a diverse and accessible range of services is an airport that creates value for its entire community.”

The flights are now open for booking, with additional details from Air Transat’s full winter 2026-2027 program expected to be rolled out in the coming weeks.
