TORONTO — Air France has partnered with Extime Travel to launch Paris Stopover, a new program that allows eligible connecting passengers to extend their stay in France and explore Paris or the surrounding region before continuing to their final destination.
Available now, the service can be booked when reserving an Air France flight and is designed for travellers connecting through Paris-Charles de Gaulle Airport. Eligible passengers can extend their stopover on either their outbound or return journey and book a travel package through Extime Travel, Groupe ADP’s airport retail and hospitality brand specializing in tourism experiences.
The program is aimed at the large number of travellers connecting through Air France’s Paris hub. According to the airline, approximately half of all Air France passengers arriving at Paris-Charles de Gaulle are connecting to another destination.
FLEXIBLE STOPOVERS
Packages can be customized for stopovers of one to four nights and include services such as airport transfers, accommodation and curated sightseeing experiences. Extime Travel will provide support throughout the journey.
Among the first packages available are ‘Paris Must-See,’ featuring visits to iconic attractions such as the Eiffel Tower and the Louvre Museum, and a ‘Disneyland Paris’ package designed for families. Air France said additional premium, cultural, culinary and entertainment experiences will be added in the future, along with excursions highlighting areas surrounding Paris-Charles de Gaulle Airport.
Each package includes transfers, accommodation at selected four- or five-star hotels in central Paris or at Disneyland Paris, along with experiences tailored to the length of the traveller’s stay and personal interests.
GROWING DEMAND
The airline says the initiative responds to growing interest from connecting passengers who want to make the most of their time in France. It cited research by the Pégase Chair showing that 81% of passengers connecting through Paris expressed interest in leaving the airport to explore Paris or nearby attractions. Interest was even higher among Brazilian and Indian travellers, with more than 90% indicating they would consider the option. Air France noted that Indian travellers have no longer been required to obtain a French airport transit visa since April 2026.
CONNECT FRANCE STRATEGY
Paris Stopover is also part of the broader Connect France partnership established in 2025 between Air France-KLM and Groupe ADP. The initiative aims to strengthen the appeal of Air France’s Paris-Charles de Gaulle hub while promoting Paris and France as tourism destinations. According to the partners, Paris-Charles de Gaulle will become the first major European hub to offer a dedicated tourism experience for connecting passengers.
The program is available to eligible passengers travelling in all cabins, including Economy, Premium, Business and La Première. Packages can be booked through Extime Travel up to 48 hours before departure, subject to availability.
The offer is available to customers who book an eligible Air France itinerary with the Stopover option on the airline’s website and have a minimum connection time of 27 hours.
