NEW YORK — Air Canada is among several North American carriers preparing to restore or expand nonstop service to Tel Aviv as tourism demand to Israel shows signs of renewed momentum.
The Israel Ministry of Tourism says the returning capacity from Canada and the U.S. will give travellers more direct options and greater flexibility from key gateway markets.
“It’s exciting to see more and more ways for travellers from North America to reach Israel,” said Yoram Elgrabli, Tourism Commissioner for North America at the Israel Ministry of Tourism.
“The return of nonstop service, together with new routes and connections, is a very positive sign for tourism and gives travellers greater choice and flexibility when planning a trip to Israel. There is so much for visitors to discover, and we’re thrilled to see this momentum building and look forward to welcoming more travelers from the U.S. and Canada.”
Air Canada plans to reinstate service between Toronto Pearson and Ben Gurion Airport four times weekly beginning Jan. 17, 2027, restoring an important nonstop link for the Canadian market. American Airlines is also planning to return to the New York-Tel Aviv market from JFK in March 2027.
Later this year, Delta Air Lines will resume daily nonstop service between New York JFK and Tel Aviv on Sept. 6, and between Atlanta and Tel Aviv on Dec. 19.
United Airlines will begin twice-daily nonstop service to Tel Aviv from Newark on Sept. 8, and restart flights from Chicago O’Hare and Washington Dulles this winter.
EL AL Israel Airlines is also expanding its North American network, with new nonstop service from San Francisco to Tel Aviv scheduled to begin Oct. 25.
Israir, the Israeli low-cost carrier, is preparing to enter the U.S. market with plans to launch service from New York beginning Oct. 19.
Together, the restored and expanded services will strengthen Israel’s connectivity with several of its most important North American source markets.
