Air traffic controllers set to strike in Iceland today

WOW air is warning fliers today to expect delays due to strikes at Keflavik airport (KEF), also known as Reykjavík-Keflavík Airport, in Iceland.

According to the airline, industrial actions by Air Traffic Controllers (ATC) at Keflavik airport will affect the following flights:

  • WW404 KEF-CDG will now depart 07:45 local time
  • WW442 KEF-AMS will now depart 08:10 local time
  • WW720 KEF-SXF will now depart 07:45 local time
  • WW810 KEF-LGW will now depart 07:40 local time
  • WW830 KEF-BRS will now depart 07:40 local time
  • WW852 KEF-DUB will now depart 08:00 local time
  • WW902 KEF-CPH will now depart 08:00 local time
  • WW940 KEF-VST will now depart 07:40 local time

WOW is advising passengers to arrive an extra 45 minutes before their departure time.

Icelandair has also posted a travel alert, warning of flight disruptions on June 6 due to the strike. Flights from Keflavik to USA/Canada today will be affected. For a complete list of flights, go to: icelandair.ca/announcement/.
