Aeromexico’s presence in Toronto “long overdue”, flights start May 4

TORONTO — Aeromexico’s new Toronto-Mexico City route is scheduled to begin May 4 on B737 aircraft, with 124 seats including 12 in Business Class.

Canada has become a key market for Aeromexico, said Claudia Gonzalez, regional sales director, East Coast & Canada. “Our presence here in Toronto was long overdue,” she said.

Aeromexico also flies out of Montreal and will soon bring on service out of Vancouver as well. “The corporate segment is very important to us,” said Gonzalez, listing industries from finance to mining to oil and energy.

Flights will depart Toronto at 8:30 a.m., arriving in Mexico City at 12:35 p.m. On the return, flights depart Mexico City at 1 a.m., arriving in Toronto at 6:46 a.m.

More than 1.7 million Canadians travelled to Mexico in 2014, said Rodrigo Esponda, director for Canada for the Mexico Tourism Board. The MTB hosted an Aeromexico event for Toronto travel agents and trade media.
