A heartfelt message of thanks from Disney

TORONTO — Claire Bilby has a message for the trade: thank you.

During such difficult times a simple thank you goes a long way, which is why Bilby, SVP, Sales, Services & Events at Disney Destinations, released a video for travel agents and partners to share her gratitude for all their hard work.

“We are so grateful for our relationship with you,” she says. “As we bring 2020 to a close and look ahead to the holidays, I want to acknowledge all of you, our amazing clients, because we know this year has been so challenging and we appreciate your support for the Disney brand.”

Noting the many travel restrictions still in place today as a result of the global pandemic, Bilby adds: “We know things are different right now and it’s not easy to travel, and in some regions it’s not even possible. But when the time is right we’re excited for your clients to experience the magic of a Disney vacation.”

Bilby also noted  that Disney continues to work towards reopening its parks and resorts around the world, and is in the midst of planning for the future of Disney Cruise Line. At an earnings call last week, Christine McCarthy, Disney’s senior executive vice president and chief financial officer, said that Disneyland and California Adventure are expected to stay closed through “at least the end of the first fiscal quarter.” This means the two Anaheim theme parks would remain closed until at least March 2021.

McCarthy also noted, however, that some Disney theme parks around the world are now open at limited capacity.
