Sandals South Coast to debut world’s first Swim-up Rondoval Suites

MONTEGO BAY — Sandals Resorts International has unveiled design plans for the multi-million-dollar renovation of Sandals South Coast in Jamaica.

Set to debut in December, the new and improved resort will feature the world’s first-ever Swim-up Rondoval Suites, positioned on a 17,040-square-foot pool oasis. Guests will also enjoy a completely reimagined 112-room Dutch Village with direct access to two new swim-up pools, as well as a new modern wedding venue in the resort’s Italian Village garden.

Sandals South Coast is scheduled to reopen on Oct. 1.

“Sandals South Coast is one of the most beautiful destinations in the uncharted land of Jamaica,” said Gordon ‘Butch’ Stewart, Chairman of Sandals Resorts. “Our goal is to exceed expectations time and time again, and the new Sandals South Coast will that and more.

“The resort, which is nestled within a lush 50-acre nature preserve, along with crystal blue waters, was our inspiration for this incredibly expansive project. We can’t wait for our guests to experiences these new, luxurious innovations.”

The resort’s 20 new Swim-up Rondoval Suites will measure an impressive 22 feet in diameter with 20-foot conical ceilings and private plunge pools ornamented with Italian glass-clad fountains and Indonesian limestone. Hallmarks of the suites include access to a zero-entry pool, the longest pool in the Western Hemisphere at 17,040 square feet, a scalloped Tranquility Soaking Tub for two, as well as an indoor wicker swing with scenic outdoor views. Bathrooms will boast a suspended stone vanity while contemporary lounge furnishings will complete the private coral sundeck. Plus, a personal butler trained by the Guild of Professional English Butlers will be on hand to assist couples during their stay.

In addition to the suites, the resort’s Dutch Village will undergo a complete renovation that includes fully reimagined suites featuring a light blue and neutral colour scheme. The 112-room village, which comprises 16 Butler Elite suites and 96 Club and Luxury Level rooms – will include indoor free-standing tubs and showers, outdoor Tranquility Soaking Tubs for two as well as swim-up access from a private pool for select categories.

These enhancements will complement the resort’s already cutting-edge design features, such as its lavish Over-the-Water Bungalows, Over-the-Water Serenity Wedding Chapel, and an overwater bar offering 360-degree views of the ocean.

The new Swim-Up Rondoval Suites and renovated Dutch Village suites are now accepting reservations for arrivals beginning Dec. 10, 2020.
